COOPER CITY FALL COMMUNIY GARAGE  SALE

Cooper City is hosting it’s “Multi-Family Garage Sale” on Saturday, March 6th from 7 a.m.  – 12 noon at the Cooper City Sports Complex located on the corner of Stirling Road and 100th Avenue in Cooper City.  Sixty plus residents will be selling a variety of garage and closet treasures.  Prospective buyers are encouraged to come on out and take advantage of some terrific buys! For directions call the Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department at 954.434.4300, x233.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM

AARP driving refresher course for anyone age 50-plus. Check with your insurance carrier about a reduction on your auto insurance. Amount varies with insurance carrier. Where: Cooper City Pool and Tennis Center.  When: Monday, March 8th & Wednesday, March 10th

(You must attend both sessions for the course completion)

Time: 10:00a.m. -1:00p.m.

Class Fee: AARP members $12.00 / non-members $14.00 (Members must provide AARP card number)

Class Registration: A check or money order is required to reserve your spot. Register at the Community Center or Pool and Tennis Center. Limited seating.

COMMUNITY  BOOK SWAP

The Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Community Book Swap on Friday, March 12th from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Interested participants are asked to drop off their gently used books that are in good condition to the Community Center during the week of March 8th through March 11th from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.  A ticket will be given for each book received.  On Friday, March 12th, participants may “swap” their ticket(s) for different books at the Book Swap.  Audio books, movie videos, board games, and puzzles are also accepted. For more information call the Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department at 954.434.4300, x233.

COOPER CITY JIM RICHARDSON 5K RUN AND FITNESS WALKS

Cooper City is hosting the 29th Annual Cooper City Jim Richardson 5K Run and Fitness Walks on Sunday, March 14 at the Cooper City Sports Complex beginning at 7:30 a.m.  Prospective participants can stop by the Cooper City Community Center or Pool and Tennis Center and pick up an application.  Participants can participate in the 5K Run, 2 Mile Fitness Walk or 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.    Registration prior to the event day for the 5K Run is $20 per person and the fitness walks, $10.oo.  All include a commemorative T-shirt.  Event day registration for the 5K Run is an additional $5.00.  A Toddler Trot has been added this year for children 4 and under.  The Toddler Trot is held on the basefield and offered at no charge.  Participants in the Trot receive a ribbon. For additional information, registration or directions call the Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department at 954.434.4300, x233 or visit on line at www.CooperCityFL.org.

TEEN TWILIGHT EGG HUNT

It’s an evening “Egg Hunt” in the dark for Cooper City resident middle school teens, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, on Thursday, April 1st  from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Community Center.   Bring your flashlight so you can find our special hidden eggs!  There is no charge for the evening of fun but you must pre-register by calling the Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department at 434-4300, x 233.   Hope to see you at the hunt!

COOPER CITY 51st FOUNDER’S DAY FESTIVITIES

The City of Cooper City will be hosting its 51st Founder’s Day Festivities is scheduled for Saturday, April 24th with lots of activities planned for the entire family to enjoy!  Morning festivities include a One Mile Fun Fitness Run /Walk for residents; pancake breakfast; and PARADE!  Afternoon festivities are held at Brian Piccolo Park in Cooper City and include a Car Show, All-Star Baseball Games, Community Entertainment;  Arts and Crafts Booths,  kiddy area of games and entertainment;  Food Booths;  BSO Expo, Family Concert and FIREWORKS!  Entry fee into Brian Piccolo Park for participants:  $1.50 per person, 5 years and under – no charge.
