Artists’ community, competition in Pines

The following is a press release we received yesterday.

STUDIO 18 In The Pines is looking for artists who are committed to their artistic development as well as becoming a part of a dynamic artistic community.   Centrally located off University Drive and Pembroke Road, Studio 18 In The Pines will also include gallery space, visual art classes, lectures, workshops and more.

Artists interested in renting studio work space should call the Fletcher Art & Cultural Center at 954-986-5027 or contact Jill Slaughter at jslaughter@ppines.com.   Applications will be mailed out after September 25th, space is limited.

The 5th Annual Art Competition, fine art exhibition will be held from October 14th through November 23rd.  The opening reception will be held Tuesday, October 20th at the Glass Gallery, 10100 Pines Blvd., from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm.    Cash prizes awarded: Best of Show, Best Painting, Best Sculpture, Best Photography, Best Mixed Media and Art Festival Poster Design Winner.

ENTRY PROCEDURE: Artists must submit application and 1 photograph per piece along with the $15 per application entry fee.  Entries should be dropped off at the Fletcher Art & Culture Center, 7960 Johnson Street.  Entries will be accepted by mail or in person between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm through October 2nd, 2009.
