We’ve received word of the 9/11 observance planned in neighboring Pembroke Pines. The following is from their press release:
The public is invited to join in the Friday, September 11th Observance, at the City of Pembroke Pines – City Hall, 10100 Pines Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 8:30a.m and will honor the thousands of lives lost, and the people whose lives changed forever on September 11, 2001. Immediately following the ceremony the public is also invited to view the 9/11 Memorial at the Holly Lake Fire Station, 21500 Johnson Street (Mapquest 33029).
“This year Mayor Ortis is encouraging all Pembroke Pines residents to display the American Flag in honor of those who are no longer with us, and all the rescuers who faced such terrible danger,” said Francie Novo, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Pembroke Pines.
“As Americans we should fly our flag year-round,” said Mayor Frank C. Ortis, “but if you don’t lets all make an effort to begin flying our Flags more frequently, especially on September 11th .”
